Everyone liked Dad. He was friendly and tried to make you feel welcome with a joke or a memory. He smiled most of the time and tried to enjoy life to the fullest.
Arch was the youngest of 8 children born to a Christian couple who were “share croppers” in the “Oklahoma Dust Bowl”. Life was tough, Arch grew tougher. Being a Patriot with a strong work ethic, he joined the navy after high school graduation near the end of WW2. After leaving the military, Dad married our beautiful mother, Kathleen, and they raised 4 “God fearing” children. Arch earned a business degree and went on to launch his own successful insurance company. Dad had a good balance of work and play. Whether he was at Lake Fork Bass fishing, or in the Condo at Red River with the grandkids skiing and hiking, or flying his Cessna and traveling with Mom, he tried to seize every opportunity life offered him.
Archie loved and trusted his Lord Jesus. He and Mom started each day in God’s word and prayer over their prayer list fir their beloved friends and family. Dad always served in leadership at their home church.
Dad has lived a rich, long, life and now he has passed... “absent in the body, present in the Lord”. Eternity with his sweetheart, Kay. Our Lord is saying “Well done my good and faithful servant”, Welcome home....
Truly, this is not good-bye, but, see you soon. We will all be reunited again with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A visitation for Archie will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, TX 75218, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
