I’m not sure if I have the correct obituary, but I was a student of Art Patton while attending SMU in the 1980’s.  Dr. Patton was my professor for Finance 101 in 1984.  I remember him as a very quirky man who always wore the same sport coat but who also was also  kind, approachable and a lifelong SMU alum, professor and supporter.  I wondered what happened to him.  I hope his demise was peaceful and painless.

Arthur was one in a million. He knew something, generally a lot,  about everything. I believe God broke the mold when he made this very kind, gentle, man. I'm certain he never intentionally hurt anyone his whole life.

Great mentor and friend...I always think of him especially when by the temple and I swing by his house...I will never forget his newspaper collection from the time President Kennedy was assassinated, or so I was told and to his love of sport hunting and probably the last rifle he had made for himself...I took great care with his smile and orthodontics right beside Dr. David Jones, DDS...I recall the robustness of his voice and passion of subjects dear to his heart...

Arthur, you were one in a million and are greatly missed!!!

So sorry for your loss. He used to shop in mesquite Texas at krogers .he always got seafood for his wife.i was a seafood employee there.he took a case for my daughter like 20 years maybe 17 years ago .great person.i was looking him up today for him to do a case for my son when I ran across this sight.so sorry
