As a teenager she worked for the telephone company and the campus bookstore at Abilene Christian College while attending college part time. One day, working in the bookstore, she saw Gerald Patrick Gibson, gave him some extra help with his books, and then gave him her phone number. They married in 1960 and spent the next 64 years together.
Barbara had an adventurous spirit and was always up for traveling wherever, whenever. She made memories and new friends everywhere she went.
Barbara is survived by a community of family and friends who will remember her with love, laughter, and gratitude for the time we had with her.
“For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
I Cor 13:12-13
