Barbara Rutherford

Barbara Rutherford died peacefully on May 13, 2011, at the age of 77. She was born Barbara Ann Brunken, in Dallas, Texas, on June 19, 1933, to Fred and Marcelle Brunken. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her gifts of laughter and constant, unwavering love of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by two sons, Stephen Rutherford and his wife Judie of Plano, and Michael Rutherford, of Carrollton. She was the devoted grandmother of Lauren and Danielle Rutherford, who loved their Barbie. She is survived by her sister, Linda Rork, husband Bob of San Antonio, and their children, Jon Dickson (Molly) of Dallas, Sharon Rork Schwab (Joey) of Georgetown, and Patrick Rork (Jill) of Nashville, TN. She had 7 nieces and nephews: Joe Dickson (Lauren), Sarah Dickson, Sophia Schwab, Hallie Schwab, Conor Rork, Evan Rork, and Cailin Rork. Services will be held at Sparkman-Hillcrest on Saturday May 28, 2011, at 3 p.m. in Chapel East,conducted by Rev. Bill Smith of Highland Park United Methodist Church. Burial will follow. Visitation with family will be held at the funeral home on Friday May 27 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southwestern Medical Foundation - Neurological Research with the UT Health Science Center at Dallas, the We Care fund at Highland Park UMC, or the charity of your choice.
