Becky M. Schmidt

Visitation will be at 8 am, December 31, 2018 at Sacred Heart Cemetery in the mausoleum. Rosary will follow at 9:30 am. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on December 31, 2018 in the mausoleum following the Rosary with Father Joseph of St Michaels, officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Becky Schmidt was born in Dallas Texas to Francis and Gwen Lewis on May 8, 1945. She went to Our Lady of Good Counsel. She married Sidney Schmidt on July 2, 1966 in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Texas Women’s University and the University of Albuquerque. She became a Registered Nurse and began her career in Ohio in the Cardiac Care Unit. She then went into home heath in San Antonio Tx and later finished her career in Mesquite TX. Her husband Sidney was a Veteran of Vietnam and served in the Army and was awarded The Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross. Becky was very proud of her husband and spoke of him very frequently. They were in a bowling league together for over 20 years and she even scored a 236 one time! They had many friends over the years and enjoyed playing many card games. She was a doll collector, loved reading, and gardening.

Becky is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Schmidt, son Edward Schmidt, father Francis Lewis, brother Michael Lewis as well as many other loved ones.

Becky is survived by her daughter Lorri Blanton, siblings Tomas Lewis and Kathy Batson. Her mother Gwendolyn Lewis who is 96. Grandchildren Kiara Bruffy, Amanda Blanton, and Ashley Blanton. Great-Grandchildren, Stormy, Houston, Raylenn, and Jaydin.
