

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Patsy Murphy Tigert Cox; his children Leann Weatherly, Ben Kyle Cox; one grandson Zach Middleton; as well as one brother Jerry Cox; and many nieces and nephews.
Ben’s first wife, Norma Hanson Cox, passed away in 1986. She is the mother of his children.
Ben was in the Navy during the Korean War. He worked for Safeway Data Processing for more than 30 years in Dallas, Texas and San Francisco, California.
Ben grew up in the Commerce, Texas area and attended ETSTC now known as Texas A&M Commerce.
Ben and Patsy were married in Mesquite, Texas on January 7, 1989.
Ben decided he wanted to build them a home on Lake Cypress Springs in East Texas where they resided, and loved, for 30 years.
They worshipped at Clearwater Baptist Church in Scroggins, Texas.
He also leaves an extended family: 1 stepson David Tigert (now deceased), 2 step grandchildren, Richard Tigert, Mandy Tigert, 3 step great grandchildren, Ashton, Haley, and Aidan.
He will be missed so very much.
Services will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home on Samuell Blvd in Dallas, Texas and an interment will follow next to his first wife.
