Betty J. Jones

Betty Jane (Becky) Jones died in Dallas, Texas May 2, 2013. Always up to meet a challenge, she will be remembered for her love, faith and integrity. Becky was born September 16, 1922 in Paris, Illinois to Ralph and Bessie Graham Preston. She married James R. Jones May 28, 1943 in Galveston, Texas. Throughout their 60 years together they lived in Michigan, Oklahoma, Illinois, Texas, Bermuda and Arkansas. A Presbyterian all her days, she held dear the 23rd Psalm and Lord’s Prayer, reciting both as she went to be with her Lord.

Her family’s comfort and happiness was her priority, and she treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed golf, bridge, gardening, needlepoint and knitting, and volunteering at church and hospital. Always with a twinkle in her eye, she was wise and generous to friends and family and was a beautiful person inside and out.

She is survived by son Quentin Jones, his wife Linda, and son Newton Jones, and his wife Vivian. She was preceded in death by her husband James R. Jones and their son Preston L. Jones.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX.
