On July 5th, 1944, Betty was born to Grafton and Helen Reed in Smackover, Arkansas. She grew up in a caring family with two sisters and one brother. Betty Faye attended Sweet Home Baptist Church, where she accepted Christ at an early age. Betty Faye married her sweetheart, Charles Walker and shortly after, they relocated to Dallas, Texas. Betty Faye and Charles were married for nineteen years. To this union, three children were born, Veronica, Charles, Jr., and Charmaine. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jimmie Lee Jones, nephew Jonathan Jones, and her son Charles R. Walker, Jr.
Betty Faye pursued a career in manufacturing. She was employed by Saint Regis Plastic Company and General Motors. She found her new church home in St. Stephens Community Church, formerly known as Red Sea Baptist Church.
Betty Faye was adventurous, outgoing, fun-loving and had a great sense of humor. She loved music, crossword puzzles, playing card games, cooking, baking, planting her favorite flower (Caladium) yearly, and talking on the phone. She was a devoted Cowboys fan who enjoyed gospel television (Trinity Broadcasting Network), and westerns. Betty Faye was a loving mother, loyal daughter, sister, and friend who loved hard and supported all those she cared about through good times and bad. She had a giving heart and would lend a helping hand when needed.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved children, Veronica Haynes (Winston Haynes) and Charmaine Walker, one sister, Lottie Faye Taylor, a brother, Grafton Reed Jr. (Patricia Reed), nephews, Robert Lee Jones (Imane Jones), Samuel Taylor Jr., Damien King, great-nieces and nephews, Robert O'Neal (Nikki Jones), Donta Jones, Kobe Jones, Jimmie Lee Jones, William Jonathan Jones, MiKayla King, Demetrius Johnson, Jazmine Johnson, and Dominick Johnson, as well as a host of great nephews and nieces, relatives, and friends.
We praise God for blessing us with such a phenomenal Matriarch. We miss you and will always love you!
