Billy Revard Lee, known and loved as Bill, was born on January 23, 1930, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, in Denton, Texas, two weeks before his 96th birthday, having lived a long, full life marked by his faith, genuine friendships, and deep love for his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Reva Lee, his wives Delois Null and Doylene Blasingame, his brothers Larry and Rex, and son Gary. He is survived by many in his large family including sisters Janice Dodd, Joyce Jones and June (Jim) Holbrook, and brother J.D.(Maria), sons Randall Lee with wife Mary Nell and Kenneth Lee with wife Lainie, daughters Beth Gilly, Cam Dodgin Brandt, and Carri Dodgin Gutknecht with her husband Bill. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Shane, Jeff, Carrie Beth, Taylor, Dania, Lynae, Teala, Calli, Lain, Clint, and Jill, and his many great-grandchildren.
Bill began his higher education at Cameron College where he lived in the Ag barn and milked the cows twice a day to pay for his tuition. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University and Master’s degree at Texas Tech University. Education was more than a career for Bill—it was a passion. He served proudly as both a teacher and a principal, encouraging students and colleagues alike with his guidance, patience, and dedication. He gave back to the community as well, serving on the board of his chapter of the American Lung Association, and serving as president of the Texas Congress of Parents and Teachers (Texas PTA), District 19.
Bill knew how to enjoy life, loved to travel and cruised to many countries. He was an avid golfer until he was 93 years old, a thoughtful bridge player who played at several senior citizen centers, and someone who enjoyed friendly competition, good conversation, and shared laughter. Time spent with family and friends—at his lake house, on the course or around the card table—was a time of enjoyment. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and his favorite theme—“the blood of Jesus”—guided his actions, his compassion, and his unwavering hope.
Above all else, Bill was a loving brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was his greatest joy, and he took pride in supporting, encouraging, and celebrating each generation that followed him. His love was steady, his wisdom freely shared, and his presence a source of comfort and strength.
He will be remembered for his kind spirit, sharp mind, and the positive influence he had on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on through his family, his former students, and the many friends whose lives he quietly but meaningfully enriched.
A funeral service will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home in the Sparkman Memorial Chapel, located at 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225, United States. The service is scheduled for January 16, 2026, starting at 2:00 pm.
