Billy Glenn Rector

Billy G. Rector, age 85, of Forney, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025. Born on May 6, 1940, in Ben Wheeler, Texas, Bill was the son of C.W. and Lois Rector. He was raised in Ben Wheeler, where he learned the values of hard work, faith, and family that shaped the rest of his life.

Bill spent much of his career as a dedicated truck driver for Ryerson. Known for his strong work ethic and kind spirit, he was a "big teddy bear" who never met a stranger and always made time for those he loved. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed watching old westerns and cherishing every moment with his family.

Bill was a man of deep faith who lived his life with love and compassion. He will be remembered for his gentle heart and his love of storytelling with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, C.W. and Lois Rector; his brother, Sonny Rector; his sisters, Rita Amsler and Linda Sue Raymond and daughter Amber Farquhar.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Charlotte Jean Rector; his daughter, Tracy Shupak; and his son-in-law, Rick Farquhar. He is also survived by his brothers, Tim L. Rector of Ben Wheeler, Texas, and Rick Rector of Anchorage, Alaska.

Bill leaves behind five grandchildren: Brandon (wife Maggie) Shupak, John Bradley (wife Brittany) Boyd, Cody (wife Lydia) Wallace, Chelsee Wallace, and Brittany Farquhar. He was also blessed with twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who will carry on his legacy of love and laughter.

Bill's life was a gift to all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished forever.

A visitation for Bill will be held Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, followed by a funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
