Robert Milton Venner Sr. (Bob), born in Forney, Texas on May 20, 1925, past into his everlasting life on Friday, January 18, 2013. Bob was raised in Kaufman County in and around Forney, Talty and the "Irish Ridge." He graduated from Crandall High School. Bob joined the U.S. Navy on January 7, 1943. Following his discharge in 1947, Bob met the love of his life Jacqueline Joan O'Reilly, whom he married on Valentine’s Day in 1948. After 45 years, Joan passed away in 1992. Bob and Joan had four children, Robert Jr., Kathleen (died in infancy), Kevin and Brian. Bob worked in the field of sanitation of food & drink in the restaurant industry. During his 35-year career, Bob worked with Auto-Chlor Systems, Dallas Health Department, Wyandotte Chemicals and retired from Southland Corporation (7-Eleven, Inc.) in 1980. Bob was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as Grand Knight and as Grand Commander in Alhambra. He was an active member in both St. Augustine and St. Philip the Apostle Churches.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, George Fleming Venner and Viola Adams Venner, his wife Joan O'Reilly Venner and infant daughter Kathleen. Also preceded by brother Charles of Crandall. He is survived by sons Robert Jr., Kevin and Brian; brother George & his wife Pat; sister Betty & her husband Durwood; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Venner; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. Robert held all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with love and pride He was a wonderful Father and Friend to many. This world was blessed to have him for 87 years.
Visitation is 6:30 pm followed by the Rosary at 7:00 pm on Monday, Jan 21st in the Chapel of Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, Texas. The Very Rev. David Flori V.F. will conduct the service
The Funeral Mass will celebrate Robert’s life at 10:00 am, Tuesday, Jan 22, 2013 in the North Chapel of Calvary Hill Mausoleum, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220. The Very Rev. David Flori V.F. will be celebrant.
Interment Calvary Hill Cemetery.
