

He was born September 28, 1919 in Edgewood, Texas to Jessie Moore Doak and Dora Nellie Thornton Doak. He was the youngest of seven children.
He attended University of Texas where he met the love of his life, Elizabeth (Betty) Davis, whom he married in 1941. He served in the Army in World War II. After the service, he went to work for Paramount Pictures which began his career in the Motion Picture Industry. During his many years in the Industry, he was film buyer for various Theatres, retiring with United Artists communications.
He joined the Variety Club in 1956 and served on the Board of Directors and as Chief Barker for several terms. He also served as Telethon Chairman, raising donations for handicapped and underprivileged children and as delegate twice to International Variety Club Conventions.
As Chief Barker, he was involved in getting the first affiliation with Scottish Rite Hospital for the Variety Club and was Exhibitor Chairman for Will Rogers Hospital for the Texas area.
He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Drive In Theatre Association for several years, also Charter Member and past President of NATO (National Association of Theatre Owners).
He received several awards for his contributions throughout his career.
Brandon enjoyed serving on the board for the Variety Club Golf Tournaments. He was a member of Glen Lakes Country Club and Dallas Athletic Country Club where he was an avid golfer, having made three hole-in-ones. Throughout the years, he won numerous golf tournaments.
Brandon was a member of Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. He and Betty were happily married for 72 years. Surviving him are his wife, Betty Doak of Dallas, his daughters Pegi Luna of Garland, Becky Mariani of Providence Village, Suzy Kohrt of Burlington, CT, grandchildren Sandi Luna Pellikaan of Portland, OR, Kari Luna of Portland, OR, Susan Calhoun of Kaufman, Matthew Mariani of Denton, Hillary Kohrt of Burlington, CT, Nick Kohrt of Burlington, CT and two great grandsons Kai and Noah Pellikaan of Portland, OR.
He was a kind, gentleman and we will greatly miss him.
