Burley E. Denton, Jr , 81, of Dallas, Texas, passed away as a result of Alzheimer's disease. Burley was born in Campbell, Texas on January 8, 1936. Burley was preceded in death by his parents Burley E Denton, Sr. and Mattie Lou Jared Denton. He is survived by his wife Ann Denton; son, Lance Denton (Glenda) of Rockwall, Texas; daughter Stacy Rutstein (Barry) of California; 3 grandsons; 2 great-grandsons; his sister Lou Sartoris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burley was active in the Tejas Social Club and the Masonic Lodge. He graduated from East Texas University with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master's degree in Education. He was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Burley was also an avid fisherman.
He worked for the State of Texas Rehabilitation Commission as a Rehabilitation Counselor. In this capacity, he worked with youth and adults dealing with mental handicaps to find job placement.
