He earned his Bachelor’s degree and went on to receive his Master’s degree in Mathematics from North Texas State University. Carl proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, and then worked in the then emerging main frame computer business principally for Univac before working for other main frame end users, then ran his own yogurt shop in the Plaza of the Americas in downtown Dallas.
Carl possessed a brilliant mind. An avid and highly skilled contract bridge player, Carl was a Gold Grand Master of long standing. He excelled at anything to do with numbers or odds, and assessing how to play was Carl’s forte. Carl was gregarious with a sharp wit and quick on the uptake. His kind nature drew people to him, and he always made friends easily. Carl was also an avid sports fan of all of Dallas’ professional teams.
Carl is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Judith Sally Hultman; parents Arne Hultman and Sigrid Hultman; and sister, Marlene (Huffman) Rollins. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Bruce Alan Hultman (Dallas, TX), Scott Cannon Hultman and his wife Shelley (Rancho Cucamonga, CA), and Stephen Carl Hultman (Germantown, TN); stepchildren, Edwin Paul Keiffer and his wife Beverly (Dallas, TX), Judith Susan Keiffer (Lindale, TX) and Amy Lynn Keiffer (Midlothian, TX); grandchildren, Carol Ann Hultman, Kendall Claire Davis Williams Cannon Hultman, Allison Rochelle Hultman, Donald Clinton Williams, Edwin Scott Keiffer, Rebecca Lynn Keiffer/Toft, and Blake Morris Womack and Brady Monroe Womack; and great-grandchildren, Avani Williams and Ari Williams, Peyton Davis and Carol Davis.
