Carmen Nanez Gomez was born in Dallas Texas at the old Parkland Hospital (not far from her home on Pearl St.) on Maple to Jose (Joe) M. Nanez and Carmen Vasquez Nanez on October 14, 1940 and passed away in Dallas Texas at the new Parkland Hospital on May 22, 2025.
She was raised around the Little Mexico area and attended St. Ann's, Travis, Spence and graduated from Crozier Tech High in 1959. Carmen enjoyed her high school years at Tech and was on the drill team and voted Class Favorite.
Carmen met the first love of her life Bobby Galvan while she was a young girl living on Pearl street as he also lived on Pearl. They were married on September 16, 1960 in Dallas and had 2 children Christina and her son Robert Joe, who just happened to be born on her Dad's birthday. In December of 1977 while at a Christmas party with family she met the 2nd love of her life , Joe Gomez from her high school years and they went on to get married in 1978 and shared many wonderful happy years together until Joe's passing in 2014.
