Carol Lee Collinsworth

Carol Lee Collinsworth, 78, of Plano, TX, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Thursday, November 6th, 2025, at Spring Creek Assisted Living Facility in Plano where she resided.

Carol was born in San Antonio, TX, on March 1st, 1947, to Dean Vincent and Mary Lou Grossnickle. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School of Dallas in 1965, then continued her education at Texas Tech University, where she graduated in 1969.

She gave birth to Jason in February 1971, and then Allison in December of 1975. Carol began a long career in teaching, from grade school children to high school young adults; she loved children and seeing their bright and shiny faces.

Carol made many friends throughout her life, and she will be missed. Carol loved going to many movies, concerts, and plays; she loved all types of music and had an appreciation for the arts.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Allison Collinsworth (Ripoll) and husband, Jason; her son, Jason Collinsworth; her brother, Dr. Richard Grossnickle and wife, Lisa; nephews, Dixon Beck Grossnickle, Lucas Dean Grossnickle; niece, Emily Ann Grossnickle; grandchildren, Ryan David Ripoll and Reese Seely Ripoll.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 30th, 2025, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Operation Kindness or Chihuahua Rescue and Transport. Mom loved her two chihuahuas, Maggie and Dory. They offered her comfort and in return, they were spoiled rotten.
