
Carol Bonner Marsh passed away on February 20, 2014 at home in Blue Ridge, Texas. Carol was born August 3, 1949 in Dallas to Darcy R. Bonner and Virginia C. Bonner. She graduated from The Hockaday School and the University of North Texas. She was married for 41 years to William M. Marsh IV. The marriage was blessed with four wonderful children; Kirsten, Merritt, Jordan and Peter.
Carol spent a life in volunteer service including; The Dallas County Master Gardner Association where she was president and a founding volunteer of the award winning DISD MAC MAC program teaching special needs students to garden. She also served as the Dallas Metro representative to the state board of Agri-Life Extension in the City. Carol was certified to teach water harvesting classes for the Extension Agency. She served her church as President of the Board of Trustees of Highland Park United Methodist Church during the design and construction of the new Wallace Building. Carol was a member of the Dallas Woman’s Club and a past president of the Dallas Garden Club. She was also a member of the Founders Garden Club, the Lakeside Browning Club, Mary K. Craig Class and the Dallas Dinner Dance Club.
Carol was preceded in death by her father Darcy R. Bonner and her step-father B.F. “Doc” Houston. She is survived by her mother Virginia B. Houston, sister Susan B. Mead, brother Darcy Robert Bonner and wife Marta R. Bonner, children Kirsten M. Breckinridge and husband Alexander, Merritt L. Marsh, Jordan M. Eppright and husband Trey, Peter T. Marsh and grandchildren Caroline B. and Alexander N. Breckinridge VI, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX, Tuesday, February 25th at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church Blue Ridge, Texas Building Fund, PO box 263, Blue Ridge, TX 75424 or the charity of your choice.
