A Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday the 11th day of February 2020 with Rosary recited at 7pm at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Temple, Texas.
Funeral Service will be held at noon on Thursday the 13th day February 2020 at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlett, Texas with Father Duesman officiating.
Celestine Raabe Benton was born in Westphalia, Texas to Will and Caroline Raabe on the 15th day of December 1923. She went to school at Westphalia and graduated from Lott High School. She was working as a bank teller when she met the love of her life, Arlie Benton. He was smitten immediately and they were married on November 25th 1950 in Westphalia. They were married for 66 years when Arlie passed away. She had a green thumb and loved gardening. After Arlie retired they moved to East Texas where she enjoyed gardening for many years.
Celestine Raabe Benton is preceded in death by her husband Arlie Benton; her sisters Annie T. Raabe, Elizabeth R. Raabe and Clara I. Raabe; brothers Alois O. Raabe and Emil W. Raabe.
Celestine Raabe Benton is survived by her daughter Patricia B. McCoy and husband Delbert, son David M. Benton and wife Lisa, daughter Mary B. Howard and husband GW; sister Lorene R. Schneider, brothers Walter F. Raabe, and Benard J. Raabe; grandsons Cody Howard, Steven Benton with wife and two great-grandchildren, Garrett Tiller with wife and four great-grandchildren; granddaughters Kristi Benton-Ridgeway with great-grandson, Brandy Huckaby with husband and great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Steven Benton, Cody Howard, Garrett Tiller, Joe Huckaby, Darrell Seahorn, Tony Harris.
Memorials may be given to St. Judes, Disabled Vets, or Macular Degeneration in lieu of flowers.
