

Charles Sanders passed away on March 10, 2020, at home in Dallas, TX.
Charles attended St Peters Catholic School and on to James Madison High School in Dallas, TX. Upon graduation began his studies at Prairieview A&M University before entering the United States Marine Corp. Charles was with the 1st Battalion, 26 Marine Division in the Republic of South Vietnam. Charles fought in the bloodiest battle in the DMZ on Khe Sahn in 1968. Charles division endured 77 days of constant bombardment. Charles was injured during his deployment in Vietnam. Charles is a recipient of the Purple Heart Metal, National Defense Service Metal, Vietnam Service Metal, Vietnam Campaign Metal, Good Conduct Metal, Presidential Unit Citation Metal and Marksmanship Badge, Rifle Marksman Metal. Charles traveled the world during his service to our country.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents Olan & Lottie along with his sister Helen Watley.
Charles leaves to mourn the love of his life Diana, Master Sergent Ronald Scott Taylor & wife Vivian, Arvilla, Clark & Jade Warren and Fred Washington.
Charles has two daughters Terry Flemmings & Maya Sweeney. Charles grandchildren are: Ronald Flemmings, Chazpin Flemmings, Azarias Flemmings, Ar’Mell Williams, Amaya Sweeney and Eric Sweeney Jr. Charles niece Sylvia Hill, great niece Chelsi Risby and Ayanna Sanders along with a host of beloved relatives.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Grateful Grandmothers in Dallas, TX and St Jude's Children Hospital in Memphis TN.
