Charles was born February 26, 1932 in Wichita Falls, TX to George Frank Stanfield and Margaret Vida Tarr Stanfield. A graduate of Grand Prairie High School, Charles volunteered to serve during the Korean War where he was a combat infantryman in the 2nd Division. He later graduated from the University of Texas. After brief careers in journalism and music, Charles had a long career as a Certified Professional Engineer, holding numerous patents. Survivors: wife of 51 years, Betty Bell Stanfield; children, Chuck and Susan Stanfield; sister, Alice (Paul) Ernst; brother, James (Joan) Stanfield; sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Bob McKinney. Services: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 Serenity Chapel of Grove Hill Funeral Home. Interment: Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, TX.
