Cletus Carroll Creach was born in Pyatt Arkansas on October 7, 1934, the third child of John Calvin and Artie Freeman Creach. He grew up in Morrilton Arkansas and graduated high school there. The day after graduation he headed to Texas where he worked his way through LeTourneau University. At one point he went to Oregon and worked in the logging industry at a lumber mill and earned money to return to school.
Upon graduation, he married Shirley Sharp and they came to Dallas where they started a family. He began a long career in manufacturing oilfield related tools at Security Engineering, Illinois Avenue plant. He began as a machinist, moved into the tool room, on to inspection, quality control, quality control manager, and eventually served as Plant Manager at Halliburton Forest Avenue plant. He married Barbara Lyons in 1982 and became step father to Gary Lyons and his wife, Gayland.
He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, gardening, storytelling, spending time with family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and help others which is why he is loved by so many.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Zelma; and brother, John Dempsey. He is survived by wife, Barbara; step-son Gary Lyons and wife, Gayland; sons David Carroll and wife Michelle; John Dennis; and Terry Neal, sister; Mary and husband Kenneth Pettingill.
Donations in C. C.’s honor may made to Payne Springs United Methodist Church, Mabank TX; in Arkansas, Liberty Springs Cemetery Fund; or a charity of your choice. Due to the short length of the graveside service (15 to 20 minutes) a donation may be preferred to flowers.
