

Clifton P. Wolford passed away peacefully on the morning of July 3, 2016 due to Alzheimer’s while a resident of Brookdale Preston in Dallas. He was born on June 7, 1928 in Dallas. He attended Dallas schools and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was hired by DP&L in May1950 as a tree trimmer. He steadily moved up via hard work and study to become a certified Master Electrician and Head of the Plant Department as an Engineer. He loved his job, co-workers and employees. He married Ruby Hightower on Sep 29, 1950, and they spent 65 wonderful years together. He served a six-year enlistment in the Naval Reserves in the 50’s and proudly served on the USS Wright. Clifton retired after 35 years and he and Ruby moved to Corpus Christi. Their lives were made up of fishing several times a week and running competitive 5K races. He regularly won first place for his age group and competed until he was 80. They loved to hike in the national parks, including a memorable 9 mile round trip. Clifton is survived by wife Ruby, daughter Rebecca Stoker, son-in-law Paul Stoker and grandson Jason Stoker, all of Dallas. Also daughter Sheri Wexler, granddaughter Jamie Ferriolo, her husband Michael and great grandsons Brandon and Alex Ferriolo, all of Henderson, NV. There will be a visitation at Laurel Land Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service to be held on Thursday, July 7, at 10:00 a.m.
