Clyde Looney was born on January 8, 1948, to the union of Clifford Sr. and Sadie Looney in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He moved to Spencer, Oklahoma with his family while still a young child. Clyde would eventually move to DeSoto, Texas where he remained a resident until his early departure.
Clyde was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age. Clyde received his formal education in the Jones Public Schools in Jones, Oklahoma. After graduation, he attended college on a baseball scholarship briefly before he voluntarily decided to join the United States Air Force. At the completion of his active duty service, he served in the Reserves and as a Civilian Air Craft Specialist at Tinker Air Force Base until his retirement after 38 plus years of service. In 1970, Clyde met the love of his life, Brenda. To this union three daughters were born: Lolita, Kimbley, and Jackee.
In January 2019, Clyde was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. However, like a true Christian solider, he faced each stage with grace and faith that no matter what God was still in control. Even though this illness further restricted his mobility, Clyde rarely missed an opportunity to view Concord’s services via the web. He also was very appreciative of the continuous support and thoroughly enjoyed his conversations with various members of the brotherhood at Concord.
On Thursday, January 2, 2020, Clyde was released from his earthly assignment and made his journey to be with the Lord. He was proceeded in death by his father and mother, Clifford Sr. and Sadie Looney; his sister Vernell Looney, and his beloved daughter Kimbley Looney Walker.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Brenda Looney of Desoto, TX; his two daughters Lolita Looney of Desoto, TX and Jackee Looney McNeal (Lee) of Garland, TX; a bonus son, Sam Walker of Cedar Hill, TX; two brothers Clifford Looney, Jr. (Daisy) of Midwest City, OK and Carl Looney of Oklahoma City, OK; four sisters, Glenda Love (James) of Midwest City, OK, Gwen Jordan of Austin TX, Doris Johnson of Del City, OK, and Ramona Higgins (Don) of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Breana (Bre), Romell Davis Jr. (RJ), and Addison (Addi) all with the Dallas-Fort Worth area; two bonus grandchildren, Ta’Marques and Taylon McNeal of Garland, TX; his lifelong friend, Arthur Johnson (Veronica) of Dallas, TX, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
