Colby served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He loved watching sports especially football and baseball. He was also an avid watcher of boxing and UFC fights.
Colby is preceded in death by his parents John and Willie Mae Barnes, his wife Donnie Faye Barnes, and son Brian Keith Barnes.
Colby is survived by his brother Norman Barnes; his sister Margaret Walden; son Allen Barnes and wife Kathy; daughter-in-law Shannon Barnes; his grandchildren Brian Barnes, Katrina Dunn-Ford, and Ashton Barnes; his great-grandchildren Vanessa Dunn-Ford and Vivian Dunn-Ford; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Colby will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home Chapel. A burial will occur at DFW National Cemetery.
