It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Colin Samuel Herlitz who left us peacefully on April 30, 2025 at the age of 82.
To us—his children Grant Herlitz and Karen-Lee Pollak he was more than a father. He was instrumental in shaping our characters, beliefs and value system. In his own way, he was our mentor. Through him, we learned to work hard, to live honestly, and above all, to love deeply. We are deeply indebted to him for affording us the opportunity to come live in America. Without him, we would not have had the opportunity to create our beautiful families and the wonderful lives we have today.
To his grandchildren, he was simply “Grandpa”—a source of laughter and boundless stories. Whether it was at family dinners or visits to the Legacy, his presence was a gift. They knew that with Grandpa, they were always entertained.
Colin valued family above all else and built a legacy not in wealth or accolades, but in the love he gave and the lives he touched. His absence leaves a space we can never fill, but his memory will remain the cornerstone of our family.
We will miss his voice, his laugh, and the way he made us all feel like we were the most important part of his world—because to him, we were.
A funeral will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest 7405 NW Highway Dallas, Texas 75225 at 9:30 am on Friday May 2, 2025. Please enter on the Northwest Highway Entrance. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you honor his memory by making a donation to The Legacy at Mid-Town, the Chevra Kadisha or doing something kind for someone in need.
With love, Grant, Karen-Lee, Michael, Karlyn, Madison, Jessica, Jaden, Jasmine and Katelyn.
