Dr. David Harris Milligan

Dr. David Harris Milligan, age 85, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022 in Richardson, Texas. He was born February 6, 1937 to David and Neva Milligan. Dave graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University and Baylor College of Dentistry. He served in Vietnam and ultimately retired from the army as a Lt. Colonel. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam service Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal. Dave married Patricia Marie Parks in 1963 and the couple had four children and he worked as a dentist for over 30 years.

In his spare time David enjoyed playing golf, serving at church, working puzzles and watching football, specifically the Cowboys. His family and friends will always remember him as a laid back, calm presence with a dry sense of humor. He was a faithful servant to his Lord and Savior for most of his life.

David is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Marie Milligan; sons, Michael David and Adam Harris Milligan; parents David and Neva Milligan and sister, Moyra Munroe . He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Marie Pennington (Clay) and Heather Elaine Tyler; grandchildren, Chelsea Marie Hahn (Sam), Chandler Reed Pennington, Madison Elayne Pennington, Michael David Tyler, Danielle Elaine Tyler, Caleb Patrick Tyler, Allison Milligan, Patricia Milligan and Abigail Milligan; sisters, Esther Burroughs (Bob) and Marjorie Knighton; brother, Robert Milligan (Darlene) and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for David will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A committal service will occur Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A reception will occur Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 12:30 PM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
