David devoted his life to serving and protecting others. He served in the United States Marine Corps as a Helicopter Pilot. After serving his country he started his career in law enforcement with the Dallas Police Department and went on to work for Hutchins Police, Cockrell Hill Police, and then Dallas Marshal's Office, where he remained until his passing. He had over 40 years of serving the communities from Patrol officer to Field Training Officer to Captain and Warrant Officer. In his spare time, he enjoyed dancing at Country & Western bars and spending time with the family.
David was preceded in death by his mother and father, his brothers Ralph and Pete Salazar, and his sister Theresa.
David is survived by his son David A. Salazar and his two Daughters Violet Elle Salazar & Izabella Rose Ortega. He is also survived by his stepdaughter Andrea Ambriati and stepson Salvatore Ambriati IV and their families. He is remembered by numerous other family and friends whose lives he has touched with his kindness.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 13th, 2025 from 11:00am to 3:00pm at Calvary Hill North Chapel, inside the mausoleum. The funeral service will be on Monday, April 14th, 2025 at 10am at St. Mary of Carmel Church, 2900 Vilbig Rd. Dallas, TX 75212 with burial to follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
