After graduating from Hyde Park Academy High School, Aaron continued to build upon the talents and determination that had shaped him from an early age. As a young boy, he enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, and marbles with friends. His dedication to academics earned him an academic scholarship to the University of Illinois, where he went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences — an accomplishment that reflected both his intelligence and strong work ethic.
Aaron answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army, where he faithfully served as an E4 Specialist with honor and distinction. During his service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal in recognition of his discipline, integrity, and commitment to duty. A man of faith and service, Aaron also devoted himself to his community through organizations such as Operation PUSH. His greatest devotion was to the church, where on January 8, 2006, he was ordained as a deacon by Concord Missionary Baptist Church, a role he carried out with humility, strength, and unwavering faith.
Aaron had a deep love for gospel and soul music, especially songs like “Victory in Jesus” and “I Am on the Battlefield for My Lord,” along with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, and Marvin Gaye. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, and watching football, baseball, and basketball. Above all, Aaron treasured beginning each day in prayer, giving thanks to God for the gift of life and the blessings of family and faith.

Aaron was a devoted and faithful servant of God who lived his life grounded in his Christian faith. He was an active and dedicated member of Concord Church, where he worshiped faithfully and served with humility and a servant’s heart until his health failed. He believed in the principle that “iron sharpens iron,” consistently encouraging and strengthening others in their walk with Christ. His unwavering commitment to God is reflected in every aspect of his life, and he will be deeply missed.
His life was a living example of one of his favorite Bible verses, Proverbs 27:17 — “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”
