Deborah was a dancer in her youth and later became a dedicated public servant and lifelong learner with a curious mind. She loved animals and had a fantastic sense of humor. An avid historian and genealogist, she traced her family tree back more than 400 years. She also loved Monty Python and found great joy in all things ridiculous.
She leaves behind her sons, Colin McGurk and Neil Brockway, and Neil’s husband, Joseph; her grandson, Adrian; her brother, Lon Williams, and his wife, Judy; and her sister, Patti Helpinstill, and her husband, Robin. Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Rayburn and Virginia Williams, and her sister, Stephanie Bodkin.
In accordance with her final wishes, Deborah’s ashes will be scattered in Scotland along a coastline with craggy shores.
To honor Deborah’s memory, please consider a donation to KERA, the local PBS affiliate in Dallas, or simply do a "silly walk” and remember to “always look on the bright side of life.”
