Dell was the ultimate daughter, mother, grandmother. She couldn’t do enough for her family who
she loved more than life! She took such loving care of her mother and daughter, Lynette during
their last years. Always Loving and Giving of herself to all, a kind and loving heart!
Always beautiful but never vain, a smile that lit up any room, a bit of a perfectionists, you could
always walk into her home and it was perfect. She was a fabulous hostess and made certain
that each guest always had what they preferred.
She loved traveling with her husband, Sam; they went on many cruises and road trips! She helped
Sam with his boys clothing business for many years and through their travels made many friends
all over the country,
She continued to work after being widowed in 1979, she owned an beauty salon and later she and her daughter Lynette worked together at Buster Brown shoe store as she had previously managed a children’s shoe store in Galveston,TX. She was very Happy making sure small children had perfect fitting shoes.
She never met a stranger, immediately knew all there was to know about her “new friend” and they
would know all there was to know about her. She could be standing in a grocery store line and make
a new best friend! Anyone who ever met Dell came to love her!
Like her mother, she read her prayer book daily and listened to songs of praise till she couldn’t work
the EIGHT TRACK cassette player any longer. Music gave her much pleasure. Dominos were her game and she loved to play with all her family members. In her later years, her best friends at Holly Lake would meet on Saturdays and have a fun game of train, she loved those days.
She love all her pets, especially her precious JOPY, COCO and Shitzu, Shao and often baby sat her
Grand dogs, Minga and Misha and loved them as her own.
Her daughter, Marilyn, will not know what to do on a daily basis without her three calls a day and
heir little lunch outings. Dell never stopped calling Marilyn HER PRECIOUS BABY, she will ALWAYS BE HER BABY, even in her last days, she would cup Marilyn’s face in her hands and
look into her eyes and say “YOU ARE MY BABY, YOU ARE PRECIOUS AND I LOVE YOU”
Marilyn will never forget those wonderful moments.
A beautiful woman, a long life, a loving giving mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend
has left us, but she will forever be in our hearts. She will be so terribly missed by so many who love her.
Her long suffering and never ending pain is gone and she is in the hands of her LORD, who
she has always loved and been devoted to.
WE LET YOU GO WITH SADNESS AND JOY FOR YOU ARE FREE OF THIS PAINFUL LIFE.
WE WILL MISS YOU AND ALWAYS LOVE YOU.
