Denis was born on August 27, 1927 in Manhattan, New York. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Efisia (DeLuca) McMahon in 2015. Denis and Effie met at the Lily-Tulip Cup Corporation in Manhattan in 1955 and were married for 59 years until her passing in 2015.
At 17 Denis enlisted in the United States Army to support the World War II effort. Honorably discharged as a Corporal, he took a position in the mailroom of Lily-Tulip in 1947 and put himself through night school at Pace University in New York City. After earning his bachelors degree in business administration, Denis moved up through the company ranks and retired in 1985 as a Regional Vice President. Denis re-entered the workforce shortly thereafter but his true passions were his wife, his children, giving back, and a “LITTLE” golf. Denis was a volunteer tutor at Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas, a liaison to displaced Hurricane Katrina victims, and a volunteer at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas where he took pride in manning the popcorn machine and delivering flowers, mail, and treats to patients and their families. Those who knew him best would describe him as understated. A person you got to know and understand not by his words but by his actions.
