

Dennis was the first-born child to Helen and Romanus Stuekerjuergen, in Victoria, TX. The family moved to Houghton, Iowa before Dennis was a year old to become a farming family. Working on the farm Dennis learned a strong work ethic, the importance of family and community, to problem solve and how to fix almost anything. This knowledge served him well throughout life. After high school, Dennis attended and graduated from Loras College in Debuke, Iowa. He majored in Political Science and Philosophy. After graduation he came home to Texas and earned his MBA from The University of Dallas. After graduation
Dennis began his career with Northwestern Mutual Life. He counseled many clients during his successful, award winning, 33-year career. He helped families to be mindful and plan for their future. Dennis’ lifelong pursuit was his Christian faith, his family and community of friends. He devoted more that 40 years to his church St. John’s Episcopal Church in Dallas. He organized the yard crew, served as an usher, served on the vestry, finance committee and, The Men’s Camping Group. He believed strongly that the friendships formed by men coming together, eating well, and being out in nature was essential to everyone’s wellbeing. Dennis loved sailing and traveling with Leah. He enjoyed wood working and turning. He was a member of the Dallas Area Wood Turners. He was also a member of the Noon Garland Exchange Club, serving the community. Dennis was a great cook, always trying to please his family by bringing food that was different and creative, but also the tried-and-true favorites. He was a creative, thoughtful, witty, and happy man.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents and son Shawn Alan Stuekerjuergen. Dennis is survived by the love of his life - his wife and best friend, Leah. His daughter and son in law, Kristin and Corey Granger and grandchildren Cole, Chloe, and Claire. And daughter, Yvonne. Sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Mike Town, Jean and Richard Warren. His in-laws Debbie and Mike Sword, Wayne and Betty Overall, and Alyson Overall. He is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He loved them all very much. He leaves this earth having been a very good son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend to many. He will be missed.
