

Donald Ray Carroll was born on May 21, 1958, in Monroe, LA, (West Carroll Parish). He was the only child born to Fred Calhoun and Martha Carroll. Donald was blessed and his life was significantly influenced by his bonus Dad Mr. James Murphy who loved him dearly. Donald accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and united with Greater Mt. Zion Missionary Church Waxahachie, Texas, under the leadership of Pastor Roy Edwards where he fellowshipped until he received his reward. Donald loved his family, and his community.
Donald received his education in the Dallas Independent School District, where he was a graduate of Justin F. Kimball High School, graduating class of 1976.
Following his graduation, Donald went on to serve in the United States Army, an experience that reinforced his deep love for his country. Donald later embarked on a fulfilling career with the City of Desoto, where he was respected and loved by his co-workers and he volunteered with The Dallas Promise Inc. mentoring teenagers in the community.
Donald’s life was further enriched by his marriage to Gloria J. Eubanks Carroll. Their union, which began in Holy Matrimony on April 29, 2022, brought love, companionship, and a family that blended right into Donald's life.
He was last employed with the City of Desoto, where he was respected and well-liked by both his co-workers and his church family Greater Mt. Zion Missionary Church.
At age 67, in the late evening hours on Thursday, February 26, 2026, Donald Ray Carroll, answered the call of his name and departed this life.
He was welcomed into his eternal home of glory by his grandfather; George Carroll, his Bonus Dad; James Murphy and his sons; Donald R. Carroll Jr. and Paul L. Eubanks Sr.
Donald leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife; Gloria Eubanks Carroll and his cherished mother, Martha Carroll, and one Uncle; Johnlee Carroll.
He also leaves behind his four daughters, Alicia Carroll, Victoria Carroll, Desha Carroll (DeeDee), and Tiffany O. Eubanks; three sons; Kendrick Carroll (Aubrey), Ronald J. Eubanks (Bridgett), and Chadrick S. Holliday (Lakeesa). He was a grandfather to 23 grandchildren and a Great-Grandfather to 12 great-grandchildren.
Donald’s life was further enriched by the lifelong friendship he shared with Jason Valentine, and a host a relatives and friends.
