

Don was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 4, 1931, to Delbert Henry and Jessie Myra Houser. He graduated from Mesquite High School and served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge from the navy, he received a bachelor’s degree from University of Houston. Don married Glenda on June 30,1962 and they remained married for forty years until Glenda’s death in 2002.
Don worked as an engineer for Texas Instruments for 32 years.
Don enjoyed working out at the gym just about every day, working in his yard, and helping others. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Glenda, and his second wife Billie, and his brother James.
Don is survived by his daughters Donna (and her husband Robbie Burton) and Cheryl, grandchildren Daniel Ponton (and his wife Nataly) and Alicia Littrell, and four great-grandchildren, brothers Charles (and his wife Peggy) and Paul (and his wife Dorothy), and other family and friends.
A private burial will be held at Grove Hill for the family. We will have a Celebration of Life to honor Don at a future time for family and friends to attend.
