Doris Jean Shotwell was born on April 26, 1930 and peacefully passed into her Savior’s arms on October 1, 2025 at the age of 95. Throughout life’s trials, Jean, as she was called by family and friends, maintained an unwavering faith in the Holy Spirit. She was loved and will be missed by all.
Jean is survived by her son, Charles Shotwell, daughter-in-law, Linda Shotwell, grandchildren, Kelly, Ginger, Mary, Kenneth, and Lowe, and great grandchildren, Kaycee, Lily, Kaeden, Finley, and Evie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laverne Charles Shotwell, daughter, Vicky Henderson, father, mother, and three brothers.
Throughout her life, Doris was active in her church, teaching the pre-school Sunday school class for over 20 years. She found joy in reading the bible and Christian love stories. Jean was also an avid crocheter and gifted many sweaters, afghans and baby blankets to friends and family. Jean retired from Texas Instruments after thirty-seven years.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to celebrate Jean’s life on October 13, 2025 at 11:00am, at Laurel Land Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity or cause of your choice.
