She was born on November 24, 1924, in Queens, NY, to John Hornung and Helen Stehli. She married Bert Starker on January 8, 1956, in Bellerose, NY, moved to Houston, TX, and together they had two children, Carol and Timothy.
Doris enjoyed playing bridge, her life at the Edgemere and most of all her family and her granddogs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Starker. She is survived by her daughter Carol Smith (Kevin Smith), her son Timothy Starker and grandchildren Allison Smith and Christopher Smith.
The Memorial Service will take place at 3:00 pm on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at The Edgemere, 8523 Thackery Street, Dallas, TX.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Dallas County, aka Dog n Kitty City, or to Lutheran Social Services.
