Dorothy “Dottie” M. Fant was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 10, 2026, at her home in Greenville, Ohio, where her daughter lovingly cared for her as she was surrounded by family.
Dottie was born on January 31, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, to Frances and Delmas Ballard. She attended Stockard Junior High and Bishop Lynch High School. She was later ordained through Christian Retreat under Gerald Derstine Ministries.
Throughout her life, Dottie wore many hats and served in many roles. She worked as an ice cream cake decorator for Baskin-Robbins, served as a regional district manager for Tupperware, and was a prayer counselor for The 700 Club. But first and foremost, she was a devoted minister of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, faithfully serving alongside her husband of 53 years.
Together, Dottie and Tony were missionaries throughout North America, spreading God’s Word. Each year, they held booths at the Texas State Fair to give away free Bibles to the public. They also founded a Christian school, operated a 24-hour prayer line, and led a coffeehouse ministry. Dottie and Tony hosted a Christian teaching program on KVTT Christian radio.
Dottie loved singing, and in the 1970s, the family recorded a Christian album that sold over 10,000 copies. She never met a stranger she didn’t love. Her warmth, compassion, and unwavering faith made her a beacon to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, and her beloved husband, Tony.
She is survived by her four children: Theresa (Joe) Worley of Greenville, Ohio; Kathy Fant of Piqua, Ohio; Anthony Fant of The Colony, Texas; and Donald Fant of Garland, Texas. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, seventeen great-granchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Dottie was a light to all who loved her. Now she sits with God, reunited with Tony. In her own words, as she would often say, “There’s no place like home.”
