Dorothy I. Perry

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Grove Hill Funeral Home’s Chapel with Rev. Mark Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6pm to 8pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born on March 20, 1928, in Oil Hill, Kansas, to the late Howard James and Mary Amna Sidy (Wilson) Gossett. She married David Frank Perry of El Dorado, Kansas, on November 7, 1948.

Dorothy taught Sunday school at her beloved church, Casa View Baptist, for many years. In the early years she taught three year olds and in the latter years she taught her beloved Women’s class. She enjoyed playing “42” and bridge. She had played in the same bridge club for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Ivan LeRoy Gossett and Kenneth Wayne Gossett; and a sister, Martha Lucille Shaft.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 62 years, David Perry; five children: Dave Perry Jr. and wife Sue, Kenneth Leroy Perry, Ted James Perry and wife Tonia, Martha Sue Perry, and Margaret Ann Perry; six grandchildren: Lisa, April and husband Matt, Nathan, Weston and wife Ashley, Brooke and husband Chris, and Craig and wife Jessica; six great grandchildren: Taylor, Tyler, Trevor, Jacquelin, Nolan, and Madelyn; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
