He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irene Hale, to whom he was married for 65 years, as well as his grandmother Frona Hale, father Verdon Hale, brother Verdon Hale Jr., sisters Mary Ann Clark and Margaret Hopper, and grandson Charlie Hale. Edward is survived by his sons, Edward Hale II of Commerce, Texas, and Walter Hale of Kaufman, Texas, married to Kathy. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Bryan, married to Debbie; Willie, married to Amy; Dustin, married to Gena; and Heather. Edward’s great-grandchildren—Andrea, Charlie, Elliott, Parker, Abigail, Hunter, and Ray—will carry forward his memory.
A steadfast presence in Dallas for many years, Edward will be remembered fondly by his family and community. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at noon at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas. His enduring spirit lives on in the many lives he touched.
