Daughter of the late Harry W. English and Mary McRee English, Betty was born on March 25, 1948, growing up in the Highland Park area of Dallas, Texas. Betty married Harry Friedrich ,Jr. on October 17, 1987, who predeceased her death earlier this year.
She attended Lindenwood College ,graduating in 1970. Betty was the third generation to work for Southern Methodist University libraries, where she resided for twenty-five years at the DeGolyer Library. During her life Betty was an avid reader, loved a good spa day and Diet Coke.
Betty is survived by her five stepchildren, ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at later date at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
