He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rita Hernandez; their two daughters, Rebecca & Mary Jesse Hernandez; his brother, Lupe Hernandez Sr. & several nieces and nephews. Eloy was a man who loved life and lived every day to the fullest. Those who met him were immediately captured by his 1000-watt smile. He loved hunting, fishing, camping & watching his favorite sports teams. Eloy was a committed family man and devoted his time to his wife and his girls. He never had a bad day and always placed his trust in the Lord before anything he did. His steadfast faith in Jesus Christ carried him through every day of his life. Eloy began his career in 1970 as a part time package loader at United Parcel Service while attending The University of Texas at Arlington and ended his career in the Human Resources Department, eventually retiring in 2005. He loved each and every day of his career spent working for UPS. After retiring, Eloy loved nothing more than spending time at home with his family & watching his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. Eloy was passionate about discussing politics, current events, and studying history. Those who knew him knew how proud he was of his daughters, nieces, nephews & all of their accomplishments. Above all else, Eloy was devoted to the love his life, Rita. Married in 1983, Rita and Eloy settled in Bedford, Texas and have been parishioners of St. Michael’s Catholic Church since.
