

Erma Jean Abdullah, age 76, was born February 07, 1945, in Greenwood, Mississippi, to the late Mary Earnest Jackson and the late Sanders Martin, Sr. Both parents and 3 brothers and 3 sisters: Dennis Hamilton, Godfrey Martin, Jr., and Alfred Martin; Mary E. Gray, Geraldine Martin-Lee, and Gail Martin, preceded her in death. She departed this life on October 17, 2021, Dallas, Texas.
She was married to Alim Abdullah, Sr. and are survived by her 7, adult children: Yvette Sloan of Tennessee, Felicia Nadine Scott, Genevieve Mukes, Kenyatta Mukes, Alim Ibn Abdullah, Jr., Memfis Pasha Abdullah and Daniel Martin of Dallas, Texas: and all her 26 grand-children and 40 great-grand-children; and a host of relatives and friends.
Erma also has 3 siblings; Permilla Gardner, Willie Bryant and Claude Martin.
Erma graduated from Kennedy King College in Chicago, Illinois for Nursing. After graduation she worked as a Nursing Assistant in which she later became a Hospice Nurse to Alden Hospice Facility for many years. She also loved architecture. She attended Harrison Institute for Architecture; her goal was to create designs for small spaces. She loved traveling and enjoyed living in Florida and California was also a resident of Chicago, Illinois for over 20 years, she always believes in getting away. So we went on many surprise trips. Later in 2007 she moved to Dallas Texas. Family was growing and wanted to expand to a different state.
Erma served from 1969, still, until she was called home at the Greater Harvest Missionary Baptist Church under the late Elder Henry Bracken, and from the present Pastor Eric Thomas from Chicago, Illinois. Where she was saved and filled with the power of Holy Ghost. She loved her church home. She also loved her 2 other church homes here in Dallas, Pastor Steven A. Cross of The Empowerment Church from 2013 and Pastor Anthony Bates of Greater Works of Garland, Texas since 2018. She shared such a spiritual bond with all of them. One of her favorite scripture was 51st Psalm ( The Have Mercy Scripture), Our family was known to be the Mercy family , she made sure we all got on the front row to seek for holy ghost, you were gonna eat, sleep Mercy until you got it.
Erma was a caring and loving mother who had a big heart to help the lost at any cost. She helped those who were less fortunate and fed food to the poor. Although life was not very easy for her, she loved deeply for everyone and anyone, especially her children and grand-children. She had a heart of Gold and a soft smile.
