In Streetman, Texas on April 14, 1936, a hard-working man was born to the parentage of Jerry and Jessie. B Foster. Eshum Foster would be the second oldest son of 11 children born to this union. After being educated in Freestone County, he then relocated to West, Texas to work in the landscaping industry.
Eshum would eventually relocate to Dallas, Texas where he worshiped at Ideal Pentecostal Church. He was an entrepreneur for over 30 years and retired from his landscaping company, Ray’s Lawn Service, in the 2010.
Eshum loved spending time with his family and friends and never hesitated to help those in need. He will be remembered as a grandfather, dominoes enthusiast and great storyteller. His love for fast cars, guns, watching the news, In the Heat of the Night and sarcastic mouth will be with us forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry & Jessie B. Foster; wife of 13 years, Jewel Lee Foster; stepson, Marquis Williams; siblings, Willie Foster, Anna Ester Frazier, James Troy Foster, Jerry Foster Jr., Annie Mae Foster, and James Earl Foster. Eshum leaves to cherish memories to his wife of 23 years, Felicia Foster; daughter, Deshandra Henderson (Edrick); stepsons, Jerome Williams (Keneshia), Lawrence Grove, and Clifford Grove (Tina); grandchildren, Jamari and Jace Williams. Siblings, Mattie Foster, Jessie Govan (Roger), Ada Foster, Roy B. Foster, Annie Foster (Charles), Travis Gould (Pamela), and Charles Troy Foster (Tammie). And a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
