With the heaviest of hearts but with even more gratitude for all the joy she continuously showered upon all who were fortunate enough to know and to love her, our family shares in the saddest of news that Estelle Gordon Baron peacefully passed away on December 4, 2016, surrounded by family members and her wonderful caregiver, Liz. That such a lovely, loving and loved woman would live to ninety-seven years makes one feel that the world can be a beautiful place. And that the passing of a person who was so very old can still bring deep sorrow is a testament to just how adored she was, and how much she will forever be missed. Estelle was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 17, 1919, the daughter of Louis Gordon and Emma Bransky Gordon. She married Joseph W. Baron on August 29, 1940, settled in El Paso, Texas, for over 25 years where they raised their three sons, Jason, Raymond and Kenny. She and Joe moved to Dallas in 1970. They celebrated over sixty years of marriage until his death in 2001. Besides her three sons, Estelle had ten adoring grandchildren, Noa, Amie, Timothy, Ean, Andy, Beau, Blair, Emily, Katherine and Adam who preceded Estelle in death. Other important members of the family are daughters-in-law Janie, Ruthie, Dianne and Beatrice, her niece Anita and nephews Mark, Ho, Richard and Larry. And, of course, the late love of her life, Glenn. Estelle was a gracious and extraordinary woman who lived her life to her fullest potential. She had a strong moral sense and was gentle and emotionally generous. Estelle was, simply, the rarest of human beings. A graveside service for Estelle will be on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 W. NW Hwy., Dallas, TX 75225.
