Eunice Dovie Cummings

Eunice Dovie Ray Cummings 87, of Dallas, passed away November 12, 2012. She was born in Pine Valley, Oklahoma on September 4, 1925. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. There is nothing she wouldn’t do to care for her family and could always be looked to for truth and honesty. Some of the fondest memories are from around the table watching her, her friends and family playing cards. Dovie and her late husband, Lawrence Cummings, Sr., also enjoyed dancing and could be seen on any given night on the dance floor enjoying time together. Traveling and gambling with family and friends were also some of her greatest enjoyments in her full life. She also enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Lou, being a member of the Eastern Star.

She is preceded in death by her late husband Lawrence Cummings Sr., and sons Lawrence Cummings Jr., and William Carl Cummings. Also, grandson Carl Cummings Jr, 3 great grandchildren, 6 brothers and 4 sisters.

She is survived by her son Charles E. Cummings of Dallas, sister Janie King and husband Jack, of Cooper, Tx., and daughter Louellen Cummings of Mesquite. Also left to carry on her memory are grandchildren: Samuel Cummings, Donald Cummings, Roger Cummings and wife Shannon, Neil Cummings and wife Hollie, Dean Cummings and wife Shanna, Shelley Speasmaker and husband James and many great grandchildren.

What we have once enjoyed we can never lose;
