Felicitas Sanchez Lopez was born in San Nicolas, Tamaulipas October 29, 1932 to Antonia Candanoza Mata Sanchez and Telesforo Sanchez. Felicitas is preceded in death by her daughter Ana Maria Sanchez, sisters Rosalia Marin, Dolores Sanchez de Garza, Aurelio Sanchez, Leopoldo Sanchez, y sus padres Antonia Candanoza Mata and Telesforo Sanchez. She is survived by her Husband Gonzalo Lopez, daughters Ysabel Gallegos spouse Francisco Gallegos, Maria Aida May, and sons Homero Lopez spouse Prudencia Lopez, Jaime Isidro Lopez spouse Susie Lopez, Abelardo Lopez spouse Mary Lopez, and son-in-law Rogelio Sanchez. She is also survived by 14 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren.
In 1948 she met Gonzalo Lopez in Mercedes, Texas at a store called Garcia’s, and during the same year, they were married in Matamoros, Tamaulipas. Once married Gonzalo promised her, she would never have to work, and he kept his promise during their seventy-two years of marriage. Two and a half years later their first child Ana Maria was born and from there they would add five more children to their family.
In August of 1972, her life changed for the best as she converted to the Christian faith. From that point on she would live with the conviction of Christ as her Lord and savior. This conversion to Christianity would change the course of history for her and her family. During her faith walk, she was able to be a key contributor to four church plants, she supported many missionaries around the globe, and supported Bible school students from other countries in Latin America. She was a pillar to her beloved church Iglesia Cristo Rey where she was a member for 29 years and served as a counselor to the leadership of the church. The church became her passion, her biggest contributing factor was to love and counsel many families in the church. She leaves behind a church family where she became a mother, and Grandmother to them.
