Florencia Cardenas

She was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico on December 19, 1941. She married Jesus Cardenas on December 19, 1963 and they had 7 children all boys. She is survived by 2 siblings, Pilar Magana and Minerva Magana as well as her 6 sons and their wives, Rigoberto Cardenas and Grace, Eduardo Cardenas and Luisa, Victor Cardenas and Lupita, Jesus Cardenas and Veronica, David Cardenas, and Anselmo Cardenas and Diana. Also included are her 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Preceded in her death is her mother Guadalupe Lopez, her father Jesus Magana Lopez a sister Paulita Moreno and 2 brothers Guadalupe Magana and Jesus Guadalupe Magana and her husband Jesus Cardenas and one son Lazaro Cardenas.

Florencia was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her.

She also had many friends and was well loved by all. She loved playing Loteria

and would play up to 10 cards at one time and would always win. She liked to travel to her birth city, Nuevo Laredo Mexico where she enjoyed seeing

her family there. She also liked cooking and going to baseball games. When she was young she liked working in the bakery in Nuevo Laredo, where she met her husband Jesus. Her favorite thing to do was decorate cakes especially on Mother’s Day.

Until she lost her ability to walk and talk, Florencia would express herself to others through gestures and hand motions. She was happy to have lived a long full life full of wonderful experiences as well as having a loving family and many good friends. She truly showed us what it is to have lived a long life. We will truly miss her.
