Frances Eva Watson Mark came into this world on December 3rd, of 1925. To the proud parents of Reverend P.L.H. Watson and Mary L. Hunt Watson. She was one of 13 children of the so called "Watson Clan", aptly name because of their closeness which all have preceded her in death.
She was a native of Fort Worth, where she lived for the first part of her life. Fran was a active member of Calvary Baptist Church (her father's church) where she taught Sunday school and helped with their youth activities until she met and married Chester A. Mark Jr. of Dallas in 1969 and became a member of Cedar Crest Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and continued her work as a Sunday School teacher and Christian Youth Fellowship advisor. So it's no surprise that she spent 30 plus years as an educator in the Ft Worth ISD.
Fran's educational experiences included I.M.Terrel, TSU, NTSU and TWU where she received her Masters degree in Education. Her awards and accomplishment are too many to note. But her greatest accomplishment was helping the students of Paul L. Dunbar become the best human beings they could be and many love her for this to this day for that. Even after she retired from teaching she still stayed busy helping young black males who were at risk of being lost in the system by becoming a Volunteer Probation Counselor.
One of the life lessons that Fran was taught and that she passed on was that " A healthy self love is the only way we can love others healthy." Her strongest belief and greatest guidance was he Christian faith.
Frances is survived by her daughter Vivianne "Denise" Mark Hilliard, Bryan L. Hilliard (husband), grandson Chadwick A. Mark, granddaughter Rosa Libby, a sister-in-law Cora Watson, nieces Stacy Watson, Lisa Hood and Mildred E. Moore, nephews Lucin Watson, Mark Paul and Wick Paul and a host grand-nieces ,grand-nephews, cousins and other relatives and close friends.
