

Gabriel Acuña Torres, aged 85 and a resident of Duncanville, Texas, passed away on September 3, 2023. He was born on August 4, 1938, in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico, and was the eldest of nine siblings. His parents were Gabriel Acuña Martínez and María Torres Rivera.
In 1980, Gabriel immigrated from Mexico to North Hollywood, California, where he raised his children and worked at Wambold Furniture. He was an active member of the Holy Rosary Church in Sun Valley, CA. In 1992, Gabriel relocated to Duncanville, Texas, where he worked at Continental Cabinets in Dallas, Texas, until his retirement.
Gabriel had a profound passion for music and enjoyed listening to Tamborazo Jerezano at full volume. He was one of the founding members of Our Lady of Pilar Parish in Dallas, Texas, and in his later years, he dedicated his time and talent as a reader and Eucharistic Minister.
During his retirement years, Gabriel cherished the company of his wife, María Soledad, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. He leaves behind a legacy of love to his children: María Soledad, Gabriel, Jesús, Víctor Manuel, María Isabel, Fernando, Carlos, and Juan Pablo. He was also a loving grandfather to Rebecca, Khrystine, Eloy, Oscar, Gabriel, Alfredo, Mateo, Isaac, Leslie, Jennifer, Pilar, Meadow, Joshua, Victoria, Ana, Elisa, Gabriela, Juanita, and Eli. His great-grandchildren: Tri, Hayden, Yara, Luna, Cristiano, and Santiago will also deeply miss him. His daughters-in-law Yara and Sarah, as well as his sons-in-law Oscar and Felipe, shared his life significantly. Gabriel leaves behind his brothers Raúl and Felipe, as well as his sisters Margarita, Elena, and Engracia, as his beloved surviving siblings
