

Gerald (“Jerry”) Henry Pille, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Crescent Place Assisted Living in Cedar Hill, TX. He was born January 12, 1928 in Haverhill Iowa, to parents Alphonse Pille and Christina (Knoll) Pille. After graduating from Newton High School in 1945, he enlisted in the Army where he served in Japan after the conclusion of WWII. Following his military service, he returned to Iowa and met his future wife Shirley McGillivray. They moved to Dallas Texas in 1955 where he began a long career in accounting for the American Can Company in Arlington Texas. They have four children, and he was a great family man and a loving father. After retiring in 1992, he relocated to Burleson Texas with Shirley where they enjoyed gardening, activities at the senior center, and spending time with family & grandchildren. He will always be remembered by family and friends for his quiet and gentle spirit, and everyone who met Jerry quickly became a friend. He is survived by his children: sons Gary (Susan) Pille of Ovilla, TX, and Greg Pille of Midlothian, TX; daughters Patty (David) Tucker of Stephenville, TX, and Bonnie (Terry) Dockery of Rockwall, TX; grandchildren, Travis (Krystan) Pille, Jordan (Michael) Broun, Stephanie (Brian) White, Justin Tucker, Melanie Tucker, Haleigh (Cody) Pille-Nix, Brandie (Randy) Sellars; great grandchildren, Madelaine Sellars, and Emberley Pille.
Funeral services will be private, attended by family and Jerry’s close friends; on Saturday, December 29; Visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 and grave side service from 11:15 – 12:00. No memorial funds have been established.
